Kullu – Due to the bad weather conditions, alert has been issued in Kullu district. During this time, HRTC buses will not run on sensitive routes of the district. The corporation is also cautious about this. The Weather Bureau has announced the possibility of rain in the district and snowfall on the high peaks by 14th November.
After midday on Monday, with cold-hail storms on the mountains, many areas of the valley have knocked the cold nights of snow. In the first week of November, the life of the valley was totally disrupted due to snowfall in Rohtang and Jalodi Pass. In this way, HRTC has now instructed all its drivers and operators not to take buses on sensitive routes, given the security of buses and riders. Routes of about half a dozen buses are already running in the district. In view of heavy snowfall in the mountains, the District Disaster Management Authority has been asked to be prepared to deal with any kind of disaster.
Tourists and the common people have advised not to move on foot especially towards Rohtang and Jalodi Pass. On the other hand, ADM Kullu Akshay Sood said that the administration has already issued alert after the weather department warned. He said that the Weather Bureau has warned of snowfall in higher areas of Kullu district. ADM said that the administration is monitoring the weather activities.
